This damper lets outside air in while your range hood is running, so the kitchen does not pull a vacuum. A pressure switch on the hood’s exhaust duct senses airflow and opens the damper, then closes it when the hood turns off. Broan lists it for Broan, Broan Elite and BEST range hoods over 300 CFM. A fresh air inlet (wall cap) is needed and sold separately.
